Sadat Hossain is a brilliant writer of our time. He was born in Dhaka on June 29, 1984. He is also engaged in photography, film-making and screenwriting. He graduated in Anthropology from Jahangirnagar University.
He started his career as a photojournalist in a newspaper. While working there he began his writing journey by describing the photos in a storytelling way. In 2013 his first book “Golpochobi” was published but it took him to wait for two years in getting recognition. He got immense popularity through his book “Arshinagar”, which was published in 2015. Some of his famous novels are “Manabjanam”, “Shesh Odhhay Nei”, “Andarmahal”, “Nirbashon”, “Moronattom” etc. Apart from “Golpochobi”, his another popular story is “Janalar Opashe”. He has written some beautiful poetries such as “Ami Ekdin Nikhoj Hobo”, “Tomake Dekhar Osukh”, “Jete Chaile Jeo”, “Kajol Chokher Meye” etc.
His books have been published at the Kolkata Book Fair since 2016. His writings have crossed the boundary and gained equal recognition in Kolkata. On being asked in an interview about his success Hossain replied that he wanted to break the conventional way of writing, instead he likes to use colloquial Bengali style so that common people can understand his books.
